China has launched an anti-dumping investigation into pork imports from the European Union after the bloc announced new tariffs on Chinese electric vehicles Wednesday.
The Ministry of Commerce said on its website that the investigation starts Monday and should be completed before June 17, 2025, or can be extended for six months under special circumstances.
Advisors told MNI last week that China still hopes to negotiate a deal with the European Union for it to reduce or drop hefty new tariffs on Chinese electric vehicles, but could consider threatening retaliation against European products.
