     LONDON (MNI) - Its a quiet data session in Europe Monday, although there is
a string of second tier data on the other side of the Atlantic.
     The European calendar gets underway at 0900GMT, with the publication of the
EU trade data for August.
     At 1230GMT, the latest US Empire State Manufacturing Survey will be
published.
     The Empire State index is expected to fall further to a reading of 20.0 in
October from 24.4 in September, but that level still suggests a solid growth
pace.
     In Canada, at the same time, the latest securities transaction data and the
non-residential building investment data will be published.
     At 1300GMT, Canada's CREA Home Sales data will be released.
     ECB Supervisory Board member Ignazio Angeloni participation in panel
"European Financial Markets - Ever More Union?" at the European Economic Policy
Forum, in Cambridge, USA, starting at 1300GMT.
     The Bank of Canada Business Outlook Survey will be released at 1430GMT.
     Overnight, at 0100GMT, Minneapolis Federal Reserve Bank President Neel
Kashkari will participate in moderated Q&A at G100 Dinner and Discussion in
Minneapolis, with an audience Q&A.
