LONDON (MNI) - Friday's data calendar throws up largely second tier
releases, but there are plenty of scheduled appearances from central bank
officials, particularly later in the global session.
The European calendar gets underway at 0700GMT, with the publication of the
German construction orders and the final read of Q4 GDP.
At 0745GMT, French consumer sentiment data will be released, followed by
the Spanish PPI data at 0800GMT.
The stand out Euro area data release is expected at 1000GMT, when the final
January inflation data is published.
Bank of England MPC member Dave Ramsden speaks at midday GMT, in Cambridge,
UK.
Across the Atlantic, the light data calendar gets underway at 1330GMT, with
the release of the Canadian CPI and payroll employment data.
Boston Federal Reserve Bank President Eric Rosengren and New York Federal
Reserve Bank President William Dudley will participate in a discussion on the
report "A Sceptical View of the Impact of the Fed's Balance Sheet" in New York,
starting at 1515GMT.
At 1600GMT, the Federal Reserve Board will release the Monetary Policy
Report to Congress.
The latest St. Louis Fed Real GDP Nowcast is expected at the same time,
with the NY Fed GDP Nowcast expected at 1615GMT.
Back in Europe, at 1630GMT, ECB Executive Board member Benoit Coeure
participates in a panel discussion on a review of the objectives of monetary
policy during the 2018 US Monetary Policy Forum organised by Chicago Booth, in
New York City.
At 1830GMT, Cleveland Federal Reserve Bank President Loretta Mester and
Kansas City Federal Reserve Bank President Esther George WILL participate in the
panel on A Review of the Objectives for Monetary Policy in New York.
Late US data will see preliminary Treasury Allotments cross the wire at
2000GMT.
At 2040GMT, San Francisco Federal Reserve Bank President John Williams
speaks on the "Outlook on the Economy and the Implications for Monetary Policy",
in Los Angeles, with both audience and media Q&A.
