MNI POLICY: BOJ JGB Buy Size Unch; 10-Yr Yld At 1-Year High

MNI (London)
TOKYO (MNI) - The Bank of Japan didn't increase its size of JGBs Wednesday,
although the yield on benchmark 10-year bonds rose to a more than one-year high.
The 10-year bond yield rose to 0.020%, following the rise in U.S. Treasury
bond yields, hitting the highest level since January 2019.
Despite the higher yields, the BOJ offered to buy JPY350 billion of JGBs
with a remaining life of 5-to-10 years, the scale of the bond buying unchanged
from the previous operation on March 11.
However, the BOJ is expected to increase the scale purchases as the BOJ has
said that the bank will inject ample liquidity in financial markets through its
daily money market operations and its asset purchases.
