MNI POLICY: Japan Nominates Hitachi's Nakamura For BOJ Board

     TOKYO (MNI) - Japan nominated Toyoaki Nakamura to serve as a Bank of Japan
board member Tuesday, a Diet official said, as the government presented its
candidates to replace officials in major positions that expire in the near
future.
     The official confirmed that the government presented the candidates to the
Rules and Administration Committee, including Nakamura, 67, currently auditor
and director at Hitachi, to succeed BOJ board member Yukitoshi Funo, whose
five-year term ends on June 30.
