  • Middle East: A flurry of diplomacy continues in the Middle East as expectation of an imminent Israeli assault on the Gaza strip remains elevated. US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken is in Tel Aviv for the second time in less than a week, while Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan holds a call with Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi on the issue. UK PM Rishi Sunak will deliver a statement in the House of Commons regarding his government’s stance, while US President Joe Biden cancels a visit to Colorado to focus on the risk of the conflict broadening beyond Hamas and Israel.
