STOCKS: Most of the Asia-Pacific region's major equity indices trade unch. to a
touch higher at writing, the notable exception being Hong Kong's Hang Seng.
- The well documented trade war worry and ongoing protests in Hong Kong continue
to weigh on the Hang Seng, with business worry evident, as per the recently
reported (via RTRS sources) delay of Alibaba's listing in HK. Adding to that, a
technical death cross (50-DMA < 200-DMA) has formed today.
- The minutes from the FOMC's most recent MonPol decision had little notable
effect on the broader risk backdrop, with markets now looking to EZ flash PMI
data & the minutes from the most recent ECB MonPol decision, which will hit
ahead of the opening of the Fed's annual Jackson Hole symposium on Thursday.
- Nikkei 225 unch., Hang Seng -0.9%, CSI 300 unch., ASX 200 +0.3%.
- S&P 500 futures -2, DJIA futures -10, NASDAQ 100 futures -13.
