Multiunit Works at Marathon’s Garyville Refinery Until Late Feb

REFINING

Marathon’s 596kb/d Garyville refinery in Louisiana is undergoing a multiunit turnaround including one of three crude units according to Bloomberg sources.

  • The maintenance which is expected to extend until late February includes Crude Unit 210, a vacuum distillation unit, hydrocracker and a reformer. Rates on other units may be reduced during the work.
  • The refinery began closing units earlier this month with the 283kbpd CDU and 149kbpd VCU shut on 15 Jan according to WoodMac.
  • The 80kb/d catalytic reformer was shut Jan 24 and the 114kb/d hydrocracker was shut Jan 16.
