NATGAS: Austria’s gas reserves sufficient as Russia Turns off Tap
NATGAS
Austria’s large gas storage facilities are 93% full and the country is well equipped to deal with Russian turning off the taps as Gazprom intends to do Nov. 16, Chancellor Karl Nehammer said, cited by Reuters.
- "Thus, something has happened that we have long been expecting, since the start of war against Ukraine, and we have been preparing for this situation," Nehammer said.
- Gazprom has decided not to send gas flows from Saturday in response to OMV’s victory in an arbitration hearing. Gazprom was widely expected to halt flows but not as early as the 16th.
