No Impact on Norway Production From Halt to Helicopter Flights

Norwegian oil and gas output is not expected to be impacted despite the halt to helicopter flights from several Norwegian airports to offshore oil and gas fields due to a strike by meteorologists, according to industry group Offshore Norway.

  • Helicopter passenger traffic to Norway’s North Sea oil and gas facilities will be halted from midnight on Tuesday due to a strike by more than 50 workers at Norway’s Meteorological Institute, NRK reported.
  • Operations and production will continue on oil and gas platforms, but it won’t be possible to change crews.
  • An end date to the strike is not currently known.
