Nord Stream 1 Leaks in Swedish and Danish Waters

Sweden’s Maritime Authority has issued a warning of two leaks on Nord Stream 1 in Swedish and Danish waters.

  • "There are two leaks on Nord Stream 1 - one in Swedish economic zone and one in Danish economic zone. They are very near each other," the authority said.
  • It comes shortly after a leak was discovered on Nord Stream 2 northeast of the Danish Island Bornholm. The operators of Nord Stream 1 and 2 have both announced pressure drops yesterday due to the leaks.
  • It is not yet clear what the cause is.
