North Sea Oil And Gas Contractors To Resume Strike 24 April

OIL

About 1,500 contractors that work on North Sea oil and gas platforms will proceed with strike action starting April 24, according to the Unite union.

  • No talks are taking place that would avert the walkout, a Unite spokesman said.
  • The union said earlier this month that the action could bring offshore operations to a standstill.
  • About 1,350 workers are set to strike for 48 hours in a first round of action. An additional 150 workers, who walked out earlier this month, will again stop work for 24 hours.
