Norway's Johan Sverdrup Faces 2-3 Day Power Shortage

Norway’s Johan Sverdrup oil field has reduced electrical power Monday because of a failure at a processing plant.

  • The power supply fell to 90 megawatt, while 235 megawatt of capacity was unavailable.
  • It is not clear at present how production at the field is being impacted.
  • The outage is expected to last for 2-3 days, with a preliminary restart set for mid-day on Feb. 8.
  • The field can produce up to 720,000 bpd.
