KIWI
KIWI: NZD/USD has moved away from session lows of $0.6754 and last deals at
$0.6781, a touch higher on the day.
- Kiwi came under pressure from U.S. President Trump's hawkish comments re:
tariffs on China & trade balance figures indicating that trade deficit shrunk
from previous -NZ$1.596bn to -NZ$1.295bn (against exp. -NZ$850mn). Both factors
came in late Monday, weighing on the Kiwi in early Asia-Pac dealing. However,
despite initial drop, NZD recovered subsequently.
- AUD/NZD is slightly off of session highs and last trades at NZ$1.0675.
- Bulls continue to eye the psychological $0.6800 level and a break above would
shift their focus to yesterday's highs of $0.6816. Conversely, bears need a
clean break below yesterday's lows at $0.6756 before challenging the 21-DMA at
$0.6744.
