KIWI: NZD/USD last $0.6849, 45 pips higher on the day, as kiwi outperformed its
G10 peers by solid margins overnight, with an improvement in business confidence
among the factors underpinning NZD strength.
- China's President Xi's speech failed to exert any meaningful impact, as it did
not explicitly mention trade relations with the U.S., despite involving a few
hawkish-sounding remarks.
- Initial resistance noted at the Dec 14 high of $0.6864, followed by the Dec 13
high of $0.6880 and the psychological level/Dec 12 high of $6900. Conversely,
bears eye the nearby 200-DMA at $0.6841 before attempting a run at yesterday's
low of $0.6785. 
- NZ economic releases this week include ANZ biz. conf. due Wednesday, as well
as domestic GDP and trade balance due Thursday.
