POWER: Ofgem Launches Tender For Offshore Wind Transmission Links

The UK’s Ofgem has opened a tender round to invite bids from investors for the prebuilt electricity transmission links between mainland UK, in North Yorkshire, and the 1.4GW Sofia Offshore wind farm, worth $4bn, it said. 

  • This will be the 12th OFTO tender round.
  • Ofgem plans to launch the 13th tender round later this year, which will open bids for the transmission assets to connect the Dogger Bank C, the Inch Cape and the East Anglia 3 offshore wind farms.
