OMB Director Young Testifying To Senate Committee On Biden FY24 Budget

10:15 ET 14:15 GMT: Shalanda Young, Director of the White House Office of Management and Budget, is shortly due to appear in front of the Senate Budget Committee to provide testimony on President Biden's Fiscal Year 2024 budget proposal.

  • Young is expected to receive sharp questions from the committee on Biden's call for a 7 percent increase in non-defense spending and higher taxes on the wealthy.
  • Young said in a White House press briefing this week: "This year’s budget comes at a critical moment for our country and a time when the President’s economic strategy is working. The economy has added 12 million jobs. The unemployment rate has fallen to the lowest level in more than 50 years. And we just had the two strongest years for new small business applications on record."
