OPEC+ Members Discuss Output Raise Ahead of Price Cap on Russian Oil

  • Members discussing an increase of up to 500kbpd ahead of the meeting on 4 Dec.
  • Any output increase would mark a partial reversal of the group’s decision last month to cut production by 2mn b/d.
  • It is an unusual time for the group to consider a production increase, with global oil prices falling more than 10% since the first week of November.
  • Other countries such as Iraq have previously voiced interest in raising their Opec+ quota.
