DOLLAR-YEN: Opened in Asia toward the lower side of yesterday's Y112.07 to
Y112.88 range, where weaker US rate yields and softer equities underpinned the
yen. Q4 Japanese Tankan (2350GMT), provides the event risk to the session, MNI's
forecast for DI of large mfg/non-mfg +23/+24, while 2017 capex is expected at
7.2% from 7.7% prior. In option space, strikes rolling off today at Y112.00
($1.14bn), Y112.25($1.75bn), Y112.50($1.38bn), Y112.75($510mn) and
Y113.00($790mn), will likely see the near-term range contained. Key-support is
located at Y111.95 (61.8% fib Y110.84-Y113.75 rise), while yesterday's high of
Y112.88 provides initial resistance. Dollar-yen is currently changing hands at
Y112.33.
