Pakistan is in talks with Eni to divert LNG shipments due to be delivered over the next several months, Bloomberg reports citing trading sources. 

  • Eni has already agreed to divert shipments for February, March and April, Bloomberg reports.
  • According to TheNews, Pakistan LNG is seeking to divert the remaining 8 Eni LNG cargoes scheduled across May to December 2025.
  • Pakistan LNG has a long-term contract to buy one LNG shipment per month from Eni.
  • Pakistan also recently diverted 5 LNG cargoes from Qatar to 2026, which were scheduled to arrive in 2025.
  • Pakistan currently imports around 120-140 LNG cargoes annually, mostly under long-term contracts.
  • The nation is facing a gas surplus amidst low industrial demand, Bloomberg reports.
