  • No Pakistan PM has ever completed a full term in office and Khan has called for a rally in support of his premiership over the weekend.
  • Minister of Education Shafqat Mahmood: 'The people of Pakistan will gather on 27th March for the biggest 'jalsa' in the history of Pakistan as a mark of support to PTI and PM Imran Khan. I will myself lead a Punjab rally from Lahore to Islamabad. Come join this historic event.'
  • Khan's popularity has plummeted during his premiership and he has increasingly turned to populist statements on India, and religion to retain support as the economy stalls. The prospect of political violence remains high and uncertainty will persist throughout the weekend.
