Parliament Debates 2023 Budget Bill, CNB To Hold Presser On Financial Stability

  • Czech lawmakers are debating the draft 2023 state budget in the final reading today. The spending plan assumes a CZK295bn deficit, which cannot be changed. Before voting on the entire bill, the lower house will decide on some sixty amendments, although most have been submitted by the opposition and are expected to fail.
  • The CNB will hold a press conference on financial stability at 1545CET/1445GMT with Bank Board member Kubelkova and Financial Stability Department chief Holub. The central bank will announce its decisions on countercyclical capital requirement and other macroprudential policy tools.
  • No top-tier data releases in Czechia today, with M2 money supply due at the top of the hour.
