PM Modi European Tour Begins Monday

INDIA

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will begin a European tour on Monday.

  • Modi will hold bilateral talks with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in Berlin on Monday before the two leaders co-chair the sixth edition of the India-Germany Inter-Governmental Consultations.
  • Modi will then travel to Copenhagen to meet with Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen and participate in the 2nd India-Nordic Summit attended by Iceland PM Katrín Jakobsdóttir, Norway PM Jonas Gahr Støre, Swedish PM Magdalena Andersson, and Finnish PM Sanna Marin.
  • Modi will then hold a meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron in Paris before returning to India.
  • Delhi has recently emerged as a key target of the western led alliance against the Russian invasion of Ukraine. It is likely that Modi will restate India's neutral position in the conflict as he did in meetings with US President Joe Biden, UK PM Boris Johnson, and EU Commission President Ursula Von Der Leyen.
