PM Recieves Gray Report, Statement In Commons Possible This Afternoon

Wires and social media confirming that PM Boris Johnson has been provided with a redacted copy of the report by senior civil servant Sue Gray into the alleged breaking of lockdown restrictions in No.10 Downing Street during the COVID pandemic.

  • The report has been redacted, with content in relation to potential criminal breaches removed due to the ongoing investigation into the incidents also being carried out by the Metropolitan Police,
  • There is the prospect that PM Boris Johnson will deliver a statement to the House of Commons on the findings of the Gray report this afternoon.
  • Major test for Johnson's stability in office. Should his explanation or comments go down poorly it could spur more Conservative MPs to send in letters seeking a leadership challenge.
