Powell Wouldn't See Rate Cuts Until FOMC Sees Inflation Returning To Target

  • A: Our focus right now is moving policy restrictive enough to assure a return of inflation not 2% over time. It's not on rate cuts. We'll have to maintain a restrictive policy for some time. I wouldn't see us considering rate cuts until the committee sees inflation returning to target.
