POWER: Poland to Apply CBAM Mechanism From 2026

Poland has submitted its draft amendment to implement CBAM measures for consultation, with the mechanism expected to be applied from 1 January 2026, the government said, cited by ISB News.

  • The mechanism will apply to imports of specific goods entering the EU within the cement, electricity, fertiliser, iron and steel, aluminium and hydrogen sectors. Later expanding into other goods like the EU ETS system.
  • CBAM requires imported goods to follow a system like the EU's emissions trading, including reporting and offsetting their production's emissions – So-called CBAM credits.
