Putin: Israel Conflict May Impact On Logistics Not Oil Output

RUSSIA

Wires carrying comments from Russian President Vladimir Putin speaking at Russian Energy Week conference. Putin states that the Israel-Hamas war 'may impact oil logistics', but that it is 'unlikely to put pressure on oil output.' Adds that 'It is unknown whether it will be possible to calm the situation in the near future, but we must strive for this, because the expansion of the conflict zone can lead to serious consequences, including in the energy sector,”

  • On the Israel-Hamas war, Putin states that he supports the creation of a Palestinian state. State-run Tass reports Putin stating that, "Israel occupied part of the original Palestinian lands, including with the help of military force"
  • Putin: 'United States increases tensions in the region by deploying its navy'. Comes in response to the US dispatching the USS Gerald Ford Carrier Task Force to the East Med.
Separately, regarding the 2022 sabotage of the Nord Stream gas pipeline, Putin states that "no-one is investigating the explosions on Nord Stream, the position of a number of countries is surprising - in fact, an act of terrorism was committed."
  • His comments come in the wake of thedamage done to the Balticconector gas pipeline and a telecommunications cable running between Finland and Estonia. Speculation continues regarding the perpetrator of what the Finnish and Estonian authorities have posited as an external act, rather than an accident.
