FED
FED: Q&A cont.
Q: FOMC feels constrained by market expectations?
- A: What we did today was well telegraphed, consistent with what we said we
were going to do. We do know monpol works through communications and actions
consistent with communications and we think it's worked this year. We retain
flexibility though.
Q: Again on consistency on outlook vs policy
- A: US outlook positive; we really have global risks. Nothing in US economy
that faces an imminent threat. No segment/sector really boiling over,
overheating; nothing like that. Risks coming from abroad, and concerned about
low inflation.
Q&A concludes.
