- Q: What caused 'uncertainties' to be dropped?
A: If you notice statement, global developments and muted inflation pressures
were in it. Those are key things that haven't gone away so thought it was
appropriate to mention them there. But overall stance, to change stance, we
would have to see material change in outlook.
- Q: Is the bar to change policy too high?
A: Be mindful we have cut by 75bps. We believe policy operates with long and
variable lags - one reason to hold back and wait. Look at yield curve, in
direction of higher accommodation. Whether change in outlook merits a policy
response, we'll look at a full range of data bearing on the outlook.
