LNG

QatarEnergy expects several new long-term LNG supply deals in Asia and Europe are "imminent" and will “definitely announce something next year” according to Reuters.

  • "In Europe, we have live discussions that are ongoing that are quite serious. More serious in some places than others," said CEO and state minister for energy, Saad al-Kaabi,
  • "Everybody in Asia that's buying LNG is talking to us. And we have some deals that are very close to the finish line," he added. Asian buyers are "ready to commit long term".
  • More long-term deals are expected to have been signed before the North Field expansion begins in 2026 and volumes left for the spot market "will not be big".
  • The outlook for LNG is expected to be bullish with demand outstripping supply, even with new projects expected to come online, he added.
