Recovery in Russia Oil Product Exports on Fuel Oil and Jet Fuel

OIL PRODUCTS

Russia’s oil product exports are showing signs of recovery driven by fuel oil and jet fuel following export restrictions and seasonal maintenance.

  • Oil product exports rose to the highest weekly volume since September at nearly 2.5mbpd in the week to Nov 4 according to Bloomberg based on Vortexa data.
  • Diesel and gasoil exports declined 10% on the week to the lowest since early October at 804kbpd with some diesel restrictions still in place. Fuel oil exports rose to 875kbpd, Naphtha fell 6% to 383kbpd, while jet fuel surged to 301kbpd.
  • Exports could be boosted this month with the return of refineries from maintenance and after weather disruptions delayed of some October cargoes.
  • Russia’s exports of crude are at their highest rate for four months suggesting flows are breaching the pledged export cut commitments. Russia last month suggested oil products are now part of the cut.
