Repair Works at Pipeline to Finnart Delayed To April

OIL

Repair works on a pipeline to the Finnart oil terminal in Scotland are likely to be extended and could run into April, industry sources told Reuters.

  • Market participants previously expected repairs to be completed in March.
  • The delay is despite a Nigerian crude tanker discharging crude during 3-5 February at the terminal, ship tracking data showed, the first cargo since the leak.
  • Diesel arrivals at the refinery jumped in January, following the leak to the pipeline (see chart).
  • North Sea Forties crude oil exports fell to 2.8mn barrels in January, down from 6.3mn original scheduled in the loading plan, as several cargoes were diverted to the Grangemouth refinery after the leak, sources told Bloomberg.
