Rosatom-Russia Ready To Implement IAEA Safety Plan For Zaporizhzhia NPP

Russia's state-run TASS and IFX reporting that the Director General of Russia's state energy agency Rosatom, Alexey Likhachev, has said that Russia is 'ready to implement the initiative' of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) chief Rafael Grossi regarding the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant in Ukraine, currently occupied by Russia. The talks today in Moscow between the two are set to focus on the establishment of a safety zone around the plant.

  • Says that Rosatom will stay in contact with the IAEA on the issue. The plant has come under direct fire during the course of the Russian invasion, and sits close to the frontlines of the conflict, raising international fears of a nuclear incident.
