Russia Looking More Closely at CNY Debt

  • According to Vedomosti, Russia may look to sell CNY-denominated bonds in order to set a benchmark for corporate borrowing. Preparations for such a sale could take as long as a year, and would primarily target Chinese investors.
  • The US Dept of State has warned that it has information suggesting Russia will step up their strike effort against Ukrainian civilian infrastructure in the coming days.
  • Later today, foreign minister Lavrov meets with his Syrian counterpart and will hold a press conference following the meeting.
