RUSSIA: Russia Not Planning Talks in Saudi Arabia with US This Week: Tass

RUSSIA
  • Russia is not planning a new round of talks with the US in Saudi Arabia this week, Foreign Ministry’s spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said as per Tass. CNN had reported earlier today that top officials from Trump’s administration would meet separately with Russian and Ukrainian officials in Saudi Arabia this week.
  • Kremlin forces are racing to drive back and cut off Ukraine’s troops in Russia’s Kursk region in a bid to undermine a bargaining chip in possible peace talks, Bloomberg report. “All units across the entire Kursk front have gone on the attack,” a Russian military commander was cited as saying by Tass.
  • Export prices for all types of Russian coal fell to their lowest level since mid-2021 by the end of February, Kommersant report. Given the surplus on the world market and the decline of steel production in China, the newspaper’s “analysts” expect the negative trend to continue for the rest of the year.
  • Russia’s envoy at International Atomic Energy Agency talks about nuclear energy issues later today while the Bank of Russia publishes a report on risks to financial markets. No major data releases are scheduled for today, with CPI data for February due Wednesday afternoon.
