Russia's Ryazan Refinery Struck by Drone

Russia’s Ryazan refinery is on fire after an apparent drone attack according to Tass reports as Ukrainian attacks on Russian oil infrastructure and processing mount this week.

  • "A drone attack on the Ryazan oil refinery has resulted in a blaze. According to preliminary information, there have been casualties," Governor Pavel Malkov said.
  • Rosneft PJSC operate the refinery, which has an annual capacity of 17.1 million tons of oil.
  • A fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) has been downed in Russia’s Leningrad Region according to Tass reports citing Governor Alexander Drozdenko said.
  • "A mobile team used special equipment to down a fixed-wing UAV near the Kinef oil refinery in the Kirishsky District," he wrote on Telegram.
  • On Tuesday, a drone hit one of the units of Lukoil’s Norsi refinery in Nizhny Novgorod.
  • An oil depot in Oryol was also struck on Tuesday while Surgutneftegas PJSC’s Kinef refinery in Kirishi was targeted but undamaged.
