Russia to Export 22bcm Of Natgas to China Via Power of Siberia

Russia will export more than 22bcm of natural gas to China this year via the Power of Siberia 1 pipeline, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said, cited by Reuters.

  • Novak also said agreements were being finalised on the Power of Siberia 2 pipeline project which would increase the capacity for such supplies. Russian gas flows to China via the pipeline have risen since mid-November when both countries signed an additional agreement that aimed to increase flows.
  • The Deputy PM added that Russian natural gas consumption will increase by 4% this year as economic growth is expected to be higher than 3%.
