Russia’s September Gas Output up 2% on Year

NATURAL GAS

Russia produced 47.7 bcm of natural gas in September, up 2% on the same month in 2022, according to Rosstat data and Bloomberg calculations.

  • This was largely unchanged against August’s output.
  • Russia’s gas production in Q1-Q3 2023 was 458.8 bcm, including both natural gas and associated gas, down around 9% on the previous year.
  • LNG production in September was up 3.2% on the year to 2.7m mt, while production across Jan-Sep was down 4.4% on the year at 23.6m mt.
