Germany’s RWE said today it is preparing three brown coal-to-power production units Neurath C and Niederaussem E and F for a restart.

  • The activations are expected in early-October. The government still has to formally finalise conditions of their operation.
  • The plants are being put into action to try and ensure electricity supply now that gas security is under threat this winter across Europe.
