Schisms Clear In Coalition Over China Policy

(MNI) London- German Finance Minister Christian Lindner has been speaking on the country’s relations with China. Comments carried by wires have Lindner stating that “China remains an important economic partner, but we must not sell our liberal values for good business.”

  • Lindner's comments come in the wake of Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock speaking to the Bundestag on 20 April regarding her recent visit to Beijing. Baerbockstated that, "some of [the visit] was really more than shocking", and that while China is a partner, competitor and systemic rival she believes, "that the systemic rivals aspect is increasing more and more".
