Selling Pressure on OFZs Shows Signs of Slowing

RUSSIA
  • Local & USD rates trade a fraction firmer at the open, with local bonds having closed yesterday's session in the green – broadly against the grain in the EM space with higher UST yields exerting upside pressure on EM rates.
  • The OFZ curve bull flattened on the day with 7-15Y yields ending -2-3bp lower after a number of successively weaker sessions.
  • Price action on the 10Y pulled back towards 7.30 after making an attempt at a new YTD high at 7.35.
  • Interestingly, the RSI is signalling flagging upside momentum on shorter timeframes.
  • Russia's 5Y CDS also closed above the 90 handle in yesterday's session, but has dipped slightly below with this morning's price action.
