US STOCKS
  • Equities have been under pressure ever since a short-lived push higher with the cash open, with the day’s weakness driven by semiconductor names and Nvidia in particular (-5.8%) rather than a macro angle considering real yields are little changed to marginally lower on the day.
  • Accordingly, e-minis see solid declines for the Nasdaq 100 (-0.9%) and S&P 500 (-0.5%), whilst the Dow Jones (+0.1%) and Russell 2000 (+0.2%) outperform.
  • ESU4 has most recently lifted ~10 points off a low of 5465.50 but technicals still have some space below with support not seen until 5432.50 (Jul 25 low).
  • Within SPX, leaders are financials (+1.3%) and energy (+0.9%, despite further declines for WTI), whilst laggers are IT (-1.6%, semi-conductors -3.5%) and consumer staples (-0.9%).
