Senate Vote On Continued Government Funding Coming

US
  • The U.S. Senate will take a procedural vote at 5:30pm EDT on a spending bill that would keep agencies open. The Senate will take a final vote tomorrow where passage is expected, before sending the legislation to the President for signature. The House of Representatives already passed the bill last week.
  • The legislation would keep agencies open through December 11 - setting up another government funding fight in December. The funding must be approved or the government faces another shutdown threat midnight September 30, the last day in the 2020 fiscal year.
