Svenska kraftnat plans to invest SEK 57bn (€5.2bn) between 2026-28, up by SEK 13bn in the previous plan, to strengthen Sweden’s electricity grid and address growing demand, the TSO said.

  • Ten series compensation facilities will be commissioned between 2026–2029, boosting transmission capacity in the SE2 bidding zone by 800MW.
  • Additionally, supply chain challenges in the energy sector are driving cost increases, prompting Svenska kraftnat to implement strategic partnering contracts for supplier stability.
  • And 40% of Svenska kraftnat’s costs between 2025–30 will be covered by bottleneck revenues, reducing costs for network customers, the TSO added.
