Norway’s Johan Sverdrup medium sour crude reached a record high differential against Dated Brent October 4 according to Platts.

  • Platts last assessed Johan Sverdrup at a $3.94/b premium to Dated Brent Oct. 4.
  • Sour barrels have been supported by longer term Saudi/Russia voluntary supply cuts, no resolution in northern Iraqi flows via Turkey and overall tightness in distillate markets because of a lack of more sour barrels.
