POWER: Sweden, Denmark to Increase 715MW Konti-Skan Link to 1GW

Svenska Kraftnat and Danish Energinet are upgrading the 715MW Konti-Skan 1 and 2 electricity connections between Sweden and Denmark to increase transmission capacity by 285W to 1GW, Svenska said.

  • The upgrade is part of broader efforts to increase transmission capacity, including reinforcements in electricity areas SE2 and SE3 by 2028 and up to 2GW in the 2030s.
  • The renewal aims to support electricity trade between Sweden and Denmark, driven by rising energy demand and the increased use of wind and solar power, the Swedish TSO added.
  • The provisional cost for Svenska Kraftnat’s share is estimated at SEK 6.5bn ( €580mn)
