Text: BOC Indicates Possible Ultra-Long Bond Nov. 16

OTTAWA (MNI) - Following is a press statement issued Thursday by the Bank
of Canada along with the quarterly bond schedule:
     Quarterly Bond Schedule
On behalf of the Minister of Finance, the Bank of Canada announced plans
for ten regular issues of Government of Canada marketable bonds and one issue of
Real Return Bonds, to be auctioned to government securities distributors of
Government of Canada bonds as set out below.
Potential issuance date for ultra-long bonds: (2017-11-16)
Ultra-long bond issuance remains a tactical funding measure and is not part
of the regular bond program. As a result, the listed date represents a
possibility but not a commitment to hold an ultra-long bond auction. An auction
will be held only if a Call For Tenders is released confirming the date and size
of the auction, and will be posted on the Bank of Canada's website in the
preceding week. Alternatively, a market notice will be released in the preceding
week in lieu of a Call For Tenders should the Government decide not to issue an
Ultra-Long bond on the listed date.
