JGBS: The Japanese Ministry of Finance (MOF) will today sell Y2.2tln of 0.10%
2-Year notes, a new issue #JGB383.
- The MOF last sold 2-Year debt on October 26, the auction drew an average yield
of -0.143% at 100.489, a high yield of -0.141% at 100.485, the sale was covered
3.58x.
- In the grey market the on the run issue yields -0.165%, up 0.9bp on the
session.
- The auction could see subdued demand due to the proximity of the BoJ's
December buying plan announcement which will take place after market close
tonight. The purchases have been on a declining trend recently, the Y7.5tln
purchased in November was the lowest total since 2014.
- The MOF will also sell Y4.39tln of 3-Month bills, slightly smaller than the
usual Y4.4tln sale. The T-Bill balance will likely be lowered as the Bank has
bought less than the lower end of the Y20tln target range in.
- Bull results due at 0335GMT/1235JST, note results due at 0345GMT,1245JST.
