IRELAND: The ongoing crisis in Irish politics took a new turn last night as
fresh emails were released showing that Deputy PM, Frances Fitzgerald was
repeatedly told in 2015 "about an 'aggressive' approach to undermine Sgt McCabe
at the O'Higgins commission" according to the Irish Times.
- The Irish Times also reports that Ms Fitzgerald is under pressure to resign
from within her own party, Fine Gael. However, through her spokesman last night,
it was said that Fitzgerald had not changed her position.
- A no-confidence vote in Frances Fitzgerald is likely to be tabled today.
