US TSYS SUMMARY: Treasuries are a little higher early Tuesday.
- Tsys gained around 0300ET in wake of Gilts going bid in risk-off move:
Conservative lead over Labour in UK election seen shrinking in another poll.
- This followed mixed headlines on US-China trade in the Asia-Pac session;
initial spike in risk appetite has faded, though equities now off the lows.
- Dec 10-Yr futures (TY) last up 2/32 at 129-18.5 (L: 129-11.5 / H: 129-22).
Plenty of fut roll activity once again.
- 2-Yr yield is down 1.6bps at 1.5979%, 5-Yr is flat at 1.6109%, 10-Yr is down
0.7bps at 1.7483%, and 30-Yr is down 1.8bps at 2.1838%.
- Fed Chair Powell had little new to add to the MonPol outlook in comments
Monday night; today we get Dallas` Kaplan on CNBC at 0730ET and Brainard on the
Policy Framework Review at 1300ET (text released, Q&A).
- Data-wise we start off at 0830ET with prelim Oct wholesale inventories, then
at 1000ET we get a trifecta: Conference Board's Nov cons. conf., Oct new home
sales, and Nov Richmond Fed.
- Following Monday`s solid 2-Yr Tsy sale, we get 2-Yr FRN and 5-Yr note sales.
